I was certified as a birth doula through DONA in 2003. I joined PDX Doulas as a volunteer doula in 2004. Within the year, I had expanded my role to helping out on the new membership team. A couple years later, I became the Treasurer. In 2007, I stepped down from my role as Treasurer and became the Program Director. I served in this position for 4 years. At the end of 2010, it was a joy to again transition into my position as Board of Directors for PDX Doulas.
Over the years I have had the privilege of meeting some great doulas that have very big hearts and are willing to give their time and energy to help out laboring mom’s and their families. These women are the most compassionate and caring people you will ever meet. PDX Doulas has grown and changed, but the one thing that has always stayed strong is the wonderful volunteer doulas that are available to support the moms at OHSU.
