My fascination with pregnancy and complete awe of birth led me to complete my Doula training at
Mother Tree Birth Services (DONA) December 2010. I began volunteering with
PDX Doulas in April, 2011. As a Doula, my openness and adaptability is a great asset, my only agenda with birthing mothers is to be of support and service, and to provide measures to ease the intensity of birth. I believe that no matter what kind of birth women have, the challenges of each unique situation provide an opportunity for women to find their strongest self and push through the “I canʼt do it!” moments into motherhood. I am deeply honored to be a part of each birth as a PDX Doula.I hope that all mothers can have the opportunity to become educated about the process of pregnancy and birth and the options available to them. I believe that working with birthing women is how I can be most effective in the world to bring about the most good. My long term goal to support women through birth is to become a Certified Nurse Midwife; I am currently on the academic path towards this goal.I enjoy watching things grow. I tend my garden and houseplants with great attention and care, time with my nieces as often as possible, and am continuously amazed at how fast they all grow! I love to stay active with dance, biking, skiing, swimming, backpacking, and camping. I live with my partner in North Portland and together we strive to live in service to our community.
