Giving birth is one of the most monumental moments in life. To me, there is nothing more humbling or rewarding than to support a woman and her family during this tremendous right of passage. As a doula, I embrace the opportunity to encourage, comfort, and support women as they make this journey.
A great appreciation for the miracle of birth and the genuine hearts of midwives, nurses and childbirth educators inspired me to become a doula. I am excited to be on this path and proud to be involved with the nurturing and supportive group of women here at PDX Doulas.
I was trained as a doula by MotherTree Birth Services in the fall of 2009 and received my DONA birth doula certification in early 2011. I will attend Linfield College starting in June of 2011 to become a labor and delivery nurse. I hope one day to earn a master’s degree in midwifery.
To feed my artistic side, by day I paint nurseries, kid’s rooms and add other decorative touches to homes. An avid runner and hiker, you’ll often find me spending time outside with family and friends, enjoying the scenic Pacific Northwest.
